SICE produces a line of transceivers (or sensors) for air traffic control that complete and integrate the surveillance systems based on secondary radar (SSR) using the technique of automatic Dependand Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) for monitoring and real-time tracking of aircraft equipped with Mode S avionics transponder.
The technique can be extended through the use of SICE vehicle transponders , even for control of vehicle movement on the airport surface. The algorithms implemented in the system allows the tracking of target vehicles and aircraft with precision of less than tens of centimeters.
SICE sensors are fully managed via TCP / IP from the control center. Thanks to centralized management, the sensors can send selective messages to specific target, thus creating a true Mode S data link between the tower and the vehicle / aircraft monitored.
The sensors also, when properly configured, can provide low-cost alternative to secondary radar.
